Affordable SEO Tools in 2026: 12 Cheap and Free SEO Tools Compared by Price
Good SEO doesn't require a $400-a-month suite. Google gives away the most important data, several serious tools have free tiers, and the paid tools that matter most for a small site cost less than a team lunch. What you lose by spending less is mostly scale and convenience, not the ability to rank.
This guide compares twelve affordable SEO tools by what their cheapest plan actually includes, using each vendor's own pricing page, read on 7 November 2026, and ends with a working SEO stack for under $100 a month. None of these tools paid to be here.
Start with the free SEO tools
These cost nothing and cover more than most small sites need in their first months:

Affordable SEO tools compared
Sources, read on 7 November 2026: pricing pages of Keywords Everywhere, Rank Math, Ahrefs and its free tools, Mangools and KWFinder, Moz Pro, Wincher, SE Ranking and Screaming Frog. Some sites showed euros to our European connection; in the US you may see dollars, and amounts can differ.
Cheap tools for keyword research
Keywords Everywhere is the cheapest way to see search volume everywhere you work: its Bronze plan costs $7 a month, billed $84 a year, for 100,000 credits, and one credit returns the volume, cost per click, competition and 12-month trend of one keyword. Credits expire after a year, which is plenty for a small site.
Mangools bundles KWFinder for keyword research, SERP analysis, rank tracking and backlink data. Its Basic plan is €37.70 a month billed yearly, with 100 keyword lookups and 100 SERP analyses a day and 200 tracked keywords updated weekly, and it offers a 48-hour money-back guarantee. KWFinder's free tier gives 5 lookups a day to test it.
Ahrefs Starter, at €27 a month on Ahrefs' pricing page, is the entry point to Ahrefs' data for people who mainly want to see "what people search" and what competitors rank for. Ahrefs doesn't list its limits next to the price, so check them before relying on it for daily work.
Affordable all-in-one SEO suites
Moz Pro has an entry-level plan at $49 a month, which Moz describes as designed for people managing a single website. Its Standard plan, at $99 a month or $79 billed yearly, covers 3 tracked sites, 300 tracked keywords and 400,000 crawled pages a month, with AI visibility tracking included.
SE Ranking's Core plan costs €87.20 a month billed yearly, or €109 month to month, and covers 10 projects, 2,000 keywords tracked daily and 250,000 audited pages a month. It is the most generous of the suites for several small sites, and its 14-day trial needs no card.
Semrush and Ahrefs' full plans start above $100 a month (Semrush's SEO plan was €112.52 a month billed yearly, Ahrefs Lite €119), so they fall outside this budget; their free tiers are still worth using.
Budget rank tracking and on-site tools
Wincher focuses on rank tracking: its Basic plan is €49 a month for 500 keywords across up to 10 websites. Rank Math PRO adds a keyword rank tracker, a schema generator and automated keyword linking to WordPress for $8.99 a month billed yearly, on unlimited sites you own. Screaming Frog's licence, €245 a year, removes the free version's 500-URL limit; for a small site, the free version is often enough.
Steps to build an SEO stack for under $100 a month
An example in dollars, using only the US-dollar prices above: Moz Pro Starter ($49) plus Keywords Everywhere Bronze ($7 a month, billed yearly) plus Rank Math PRO ($8.99 a month, billed yearly) comes to $64.99 a month, with the free tools on top. An example in euros: Mangools Basic (€37.70 a month, billed yearly) plus a Screaming Frog licence (€245 a year, about €20.42 a month) comes to about €58.12 a month.
When cheap SEO tools stop being enough
Upgrade when a limit costs you time every week: you track many sites or clients, you need daily rankings on thousands of keywords, or you research competitors' backlinks in depth. Until then, the tools above find the same problems and opportunities as the expensive ones; they just ask for a little more manual work.
Where rankpeak fits
rankpeak isn't one of these tools; it does the part they leave to you. It suggests keywords your site can realistically rank for, writes articles in your tone and publishes them on a schedule. The Essential plan costs $59 a month per website for 15 articles, and you can compare plans on the pricing page. If your budget is going to content more than to data, that may be the better place to spend it.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best affordable SEO tool?
For most small sites, a free base (Google Search Console, Ahrefs Free and Screaming Frog's free crawler) plus one paid tool: Mangools for keyword research and rank tracking, or Moz Pro Starter for an all-in-one suite on a single site.
Are free SEO tools enough?
For a new or small site, often yes. Google's own tools show what matters most, and free crawlers and keyword generators cover the rest. Paid tools mainly add scale, history and competitor data.
What is the cheapest all-in-one SEO tool?
Among the tools we checked, Moz Pro's entry plan at $49 a month for a single website, and SE Ranking's Core plan at €87.20 a month billed yearly for up to 10 projects.
Can you do SEO for under $100 a month?
Yes. The free tools plus one or two paid tools fit well under $100 a month, as in the example above. The bigger cost of SEO is usually the time to create content and earn links, not the software.
